My first post of 2015, how exciting! I currently commit to posting once a month, which may have to increase because so many things happen in such little time.
2015 is off to
a great an INCREDIBLE start. Whenever a new year approaches, there is a vast wave of inspiration to be fit — and I think we’ve all been there. Fortunately, I joined Commonwealth Sports Club (CSC) back in September, and absolutely love it. It’s also conveniently attached to my office. I get access to quality machines and a plethora of unique classes; shout out to Booty Barre Wednesdays at 8 AM!
Well, this month I faced a new fitness challenge: Spinning/Cycling. Through Her Campus, I got invited to an exclusive blogger event powered by Flywheel & Marshalls. I scored #fabfounds from Marshalls’ activewear selection + conquered my first Flywheel class! Flywheel is “an indoor cycling ride that includes climbs and descents, while working arms with weighted bars.”
Back to the outfit, I have to 100% honestly say that Marshalls’ activewear selection is ON. POINT. I scored dark grey leggings, a neon purple tank, 2 over-pulls and a sports bra for an excellent price. I highly suggest you go there ASAP and get some goodies that motivate you to work out. #blogggersnevercoast.
Upon receiving the Flywheel invite, I thought back to a horrible spinning experience back in 2012. The class and instructor were great, but I just did not have a good time. I think I may have pushed myself too hard as a beginner, or maybe 6 AM wasn’t the best idea. I did not want this to steer me away from an amazing opportunity, so I got encouragement from a dear friend/cycle-enthusiast (thanks Alex Aptheker, if you’re reading!!) I also took a practice spin class at CSC.
Needless to say, I LOVE spinning/cycling. I’ve secured a new passion. I learned to go at my own pace – yet really challenge myself. The event also included giveaways + healthy snacks — win!
Treat yo’ self and check out a Flywheel studio; there are tons — see locations HERE so you can #fly, too! As a new Bostonian, I am thankful to have been introduced to this experience and will certainly go back. P.S. the studio at the Prudential Center offers your first class FREE. Check this out for other locations, too!
Do not be afraid to try new things — and that includes things you have tried before without success. Fitness is fun, and I know it is hard to get out of bed, but I soon became addicted to going before work. I actually feel out of element when I don’t. Thank you SO much Flywheel x Marshalls!
Note: I did receive a gift card from Marshalls for this event . . . I also couldn’t resist splurging (getting the best deals) beyond it 🙂
